- Goodyear, AZ, USA • Apr 15, 2025

I was contacted Thursday, 10 April 2025 via phone from 2185580781. The gentleman said I had entered a sweepstake in September of 2024 for a travel opportunity in Scottsdale or Phoenix and I was selected for that travel opportunity. He described the week stay, all the package details and ensured it was not a timeshare, but how the company advertises.

I confirmed my name, phone number, email and provided updated address information as the address he had on file was from a different state two years ago.

I was sent a text from Austin Beebe +1 602-428-8481 April 10 at 11:54am :

Received post card in the main offering a free cruise, airfare, and giftcard. There was no clear business name. It says to call 888-322-3176 mention code iva 1703

- Mesa, AZ, USA • Mar 14, 2025

I received a phone call at 7:41 am, I was sleeping. The voicemail said they had a buyer for my timeshare, it currently is for sale through a different company. I returned this phone call and was told the buyer was getting a loan through them to buy the timeshare. I checked out the company he said he was from, Lightstream Loans, and saw they were affiliated with Truist

Bank. I called the bank and they gave me a direct phone number for Lightstream. I called and said I was concerned about being scammed. I was told they never solicit phone calls to buy/sell timeshares!

- Corona, CA, USA • Feb 22, 2025

Mail received from a Patrick White claiming an invitation to attend a 2025 Travel and Excursion Event.

- Goodyear, AZ, USA • Feb 21, 2025

Offered vouchers for presentation and did not receive them

- Avondale, AZ, USA • Feb 14, 2025

I received a letter inviting me to a travel and adventure expo. There was no business name, location, website or email in the letter. "In exchange for attending you will receive two promotional round trip airline vouchers.:" " In addition, you will receive two nights at one of over 1000 Marriott, Hilton or Hyatt hotels." "Bonus: call within 24 hours and receive a $100 dining voucher good at over 45,000 restaurants" American, southwest and United Airlines were listed across the top of the letter, and Staybridge Suites at the bottom.

As there was absolutely no identifying information, I realized it was a scam, and did not call the number provided: 1-800-357-7616.

- Corona, CA, USA • Jan 19, 2025

Official looking tear at all side letter. Inside shows American, United and Southwest airline names (no logos) and Courtyard by Marriot logo. Text states that I have received 2 rountrip airline tickets for anywhere and complimentary stay at the hotel listed. Also states that I can trade the airline tickets for a $1180, 7 day Caribbean cruise instead. I just have to attend the "event" which is not named, nor is the company that sent the flyer. The only known information from the sender is the 1-800-357-7616 phone number and the sender name of Patrick White. Additionally, the letter states that if I don't call right a way, my winning package will be given to another traveller. For the record: They used my married name which I have never used and I do not posess any travel credit cards that gain points. I have no idea where this information was generated to get me on the mailing list.

- Gilbert, AZ, USA • Jan 13, 2025

Post card sent with major cruise line logos on them offering free cruise and airfare to be part of a travel focus group.

- Chino Hills, CA, USA • Jan 09, 2025

Received post card or tour and travel focus group promising $1,499 in travel for attending a 90 min presentation and states, “Not a timeshare or Trask estate offer”.

- Scottsdale, AZ, USA • Jan 08, 2025

Received a post card offering a complimentary cruise for the first 50 callers in exchange for time and opinion. But I googled their name and they did this in multiple states using different company names .

- Phoenix, AZ, USA • Jan 01, 2025

This was the exact same scam as reported by the person in Ohio in July 2024. I received a postcard in the mail stating that I and my spouse were invited to take part in the 2024 Arizona Tour & Travel Focus Group. In exchange, we would receive a complimentary 3,5 or 7 night cruise and complimentary airfare. We would also receive $200 in local dining savings if we were among the first 50 callers.

- Phoenix, AZ, USA • Dec 12, 2024

The “2024 Anthem Tour and Travel Focus Group” appears to be a recurring theme in complaints about fraudulent schemes. Many individuals report receiving postcards or invitations promising free cruises (ranging from 3 to 7 nights) and complimentary airfare in exchange for attending a focus group. These offers often include enticing extras like dining credits or hotel stays for the first respondents. However, they are typically linked to travel or timeshare scams.

Key details often include:

• Lack of a legitimate company name or clear contact information.

• Requirements to pay for upgrades, taxes, or fees despite being labeled “complimentary.”

• Promises of affiliations with well-known brands, though disclaimers reveal no direct connection ? ? ?.

If you receive such an invitation, it’s wise to approach it cautiously, verify details independently, and avoid sharing personal or financial information. For more information, check resources like the Better Business Bureau’s Scam Tracker ? ?.

Selling travel agency services for 15k membership, 800 sign up, 150 monthly. Add 4 family members and you will get exclusive access to deals on travel bookings through their personalized travel agencies. The business had no signage when I showed up. Presentation was high school level at best. It was a bunch of pictures of vacation spots w/o any substance of what you will REALLY get. Someone needs to shut them down. This is a scam.

- Desert Hot Springs, CA, USA • Nov 14, 2024
