I was contacted about a job (as I have been applying to a lot) and they said that I was being interviewed for a position as a Data Entry Clerk for Ting Therapeutics and it paid $27 an hour. I was excited for the position and went through a chat interview with a women who appeared to be with a temp agency hiring for the job. They said I got the job and was starting tomorrow. I didn't quit my current job, just took the day off and started the new job at 9am. When I work up to start the job, the person I was talking to moved me to a new person to help me "train". This seemed normal, he advised me that I would be doing research while I waited for my home equipment to arrive. When we were in the process of starting to get my home equipment mailed to me, this is when things really started to look like a scam.

I was then advised to print out a check for $3,820.15. Once I printed the check out I was to mobile deposit the check into my bank account and then purchase the equipment from my account and have it mailed to me. I printed the checks and tried to deposit the money, but it didn't work. The trainer advised that I was printing wrong and that I was the reason that this wasn't working. I asked if an issue like this had happened before and they said "No, I just don't have my printer set up right".

I tried a few times, but after it didn't work I just finished my days labor (writing 10 pages about office work) turned it in and finished my day.

As far as the scammers know I'm still working for them. I logged on today and now they are trying to get access to my phone plan and trying to get me to go to the library to print the check. I advised them not to send me anything until we get the situation resolved. But this is very troubling and I'd appreciate if someone could help me so that these two people don't continue to disrupt peoples lives. If I had quit my job I'd be in real trouble after this experience. I also will have worked 2 days and I don't expect to get paid for this work. Even though they promised me $27 an hour.
