I was activating my new TiVo stream4k and was prompted to call 1-877-215-0996 to complete activation. I called and spoke with a man ugh a heavy accent. He asked for my TiVo information and information about my sling tv account. He then advised I needed to pay $49.99 (actually charged $69.99)for lifetime access across 5 tvs for the service. I asked numerous time what was I paying for, he always stated for lifetime access. TiVo has had charges associated with it on other TiVo equipment, and I agreed and gave him my card information. Later that evening, I did some research and contacted TiVo and was assured there was no additional charges for the stream 4k. Hopefully this information will help others from being scammed as I was.
