I applied on INDEED to the position of "General Office Clerk" at a company called "TIWIA" in Stonington CT. I was informed that my application was accepted, and I needed to send further info (resume etc). After such, I was sent an employee hand book and an official notice of employment. I then was given application to fill out for my employment. All seemed normal. I checked and double checked the company and its legitimacy - but something did not sit right. I continued to ask questions and respond to the email - but never really got responses to my questions except my "two week notice'" in which I inquired when I could submit so to my current employer. I then continued to communicate - until I was given the task to buy checks, and that I would be receiving a check from the "accountant" in which I would have $1750 to use for the purchasing of office equipment. Then once "done" I needed to text the phone number my receipt. I felt very uneasy, and therefore looked up the number - which came back as a phishing scam.
