The owner of T.K. Construction is Tege Crepe. His wife, Kim Crepe is his partner. They are from Toledo, OH. I initially hired them to paint my basement and kitchen in September of 2017. He was paid for those jobs. He then offered to replace my kitchen counter tops for a reasonable price that same month. He provided me with an estimate for materials and labor. I gave him the money to cover both materials and labor. The counter tops cost $935. His charge for labor was $400. The counter tops were being purchased from another company called Budget Cabinets 419-475-2524.Tege told me that the counter tops had been received by warehouse, but they were scratched, so he rejected them and they had to be re-ordered. Two weeks later, he told me counter tops arrived, but his vehicle had broken down and he couldn't pick them up. I tried to be helpful and go to warehouse to pick up the counter tops myself, and let Tege know that I could pick him up too if needed. This is when I learned that Tege did not pay off the full amount of the counter tops and that he lied about having to reject counter tops for defects. I confronted him about the ordeal. He said he was in hospital because of a mental breakdown. He then stated would get loan from bank to pay off remaining balance the following week. Two weeks went by with no response. A week later, I called Tege to do a follow up, and he said he wasn't approved for the loan, and that he was putting his company under another company, so that he could have steady income. He then told me that he would have money for counter tops from his first paycheck around last week of November 2017. The excuses continued through December 2017. Eventually he avoided my calls altogether. Tege left me with a $435 bill and he took $400 without doing labor as agreed. I can't get my counter tops from the warehouse. Tege never gave me any receipts for the work, as I requested either. Attached is a copy of the receipt where he made partial payment.
