Offered a position as a personal assistant for Todd Cartmell, offer letter was sent, I reviewed and signed. Pay and benefits were great. Was sent a check for $2,475 that had to be deposited in my account, so that I could pay the vendor for computer equipment and software. I deposited the check, and my bank called me to inform me that it was a fraudulent check and that they were mailing it back to me.

I was contacted by someone called Jonathan Feather about a personal assistant position that paid $1200/week, and was told to contact this email [email protected] for additional information. I sent an email to the provided email address asking for additional information about the job. The person said they were Dr. Todd Cartmell and said they saw my resume and was impressed with what they read. "Cartmell" said they were out of the country in Toronto, and would schedule an interview in two weeks. I was ask to provide my full name, address, and mobile number, which I unfortunately did. A couple day later, "Cartmell" told me they wanted to immediately hire me and provided this number: (332)-223-8553. The next day the scammer sent me an offer letter/contract to look over and sign if I wanted the job. They also told me they would provide money to buy a Macbook 16 for this job. After reading the "contract", I asked to talk to "Cartmell" over the phone, which he agreed. During the phone convo, "Cartmell" had a noticable Scottish accent and told me he would send an email the following day asking for my bank information. I felt suspicious and decided to look at an interview of the real Dr. Todd Cartmell, and it was clear he has an American accent. I did a search on the phone number provided and found out it was a VOIP number, and it lead me to the Better Business Bureau site.
