Last Wednesday, 9/18/24, I was trying to buy TOMS shoes from the actual TOMS website at https://www.toms.com/. Somehow I got redirected to the website https://www.tomshoesusa.us/. It still looked like the TOMS website, so I thought it was legitimate and that they might have a separate site for their clearance shoes, as some businesses do. However, when I entered my credit card information to pay for the shoes, it said my card was declined. I thought they might not take Discover, so I entered a second card number. It said that was declined, too. I became suspicious and tried to figure out if https://www.tomshoesusa.us/ is a legitimate site. It does not seem to be, so I immediately put fraud alerts on those two credit cards. Today, 9/23/24, one of the credit card companies emailed me to say that someone had tried to charge $4,784.60 to something called EMEDCO. This was attempted fraud, which they caught because of my fraud alert. I'm almost certain this criminal obtained my credit card number via the interaction with https://www.tomshoesusa.us/ because I use that card for only two purposes, almost never use it online, and haven't used it for anything recently except on https://www.tomshoesusa.us/. I believe that https://www.tomshoesusa.us/ is not affiliated with the actual TOMS shoes businesses and that it is a phony website used to harvest people's credit card information. Please assist so that other other people don't fall into their trap.
