I am giving away my late husband's
Yamaha Grand GC1 to a passionate
instrument lover. If you know of a fellow teacher, student, family or
churches that might be interested, please forward this email to them. God bless you.
Sincerely,
Carmella Martinez"
Her email was [email protected]. We responded with interest, she sent up a picture, and then informed us the piano was with a delivery company who would be in contact with us. The "delivery company" was Tonittex, and their email was [email protected]. Now, Tonittex appears to be a legit delivery company if you google them online. And their website does not list their email as a gmail. So, while there may be a legit delivery company out there, it is NOT the one who was emailing me. They asked for our address and phone numbers in order to determine a delivery quote. The quote was for $1,940. We told them we could get it delivered and installed for much cheaper and they said only they could do the best job and that Ms Camella (note the mispelling, they did this in the email, too) would want the best for her late husband's piano. My "spidey senses" were tingling as I was researching this delivery company, and then stumbled upon another person who had been scammed by the same tactics and emails. These people have my email, my address, my phone number. I guarantee you there is no piano. Luckily we did not move forward with any payment. But know this is quite a sophisticated scam.
