I was contacted by a Talent Acquistion Manager regarding a Remote Job making $35.00/hour. The HR Manager then Overnighted me a check via FedEx to purchase work equipment. Once I received and deposited the check, I was asked to wire a portion of the check to a "vendor" to purchase the equipment on my behalf. The letters had no logos and many grammatical mistakes. The company name from the hiring company, the company name on the check, and the company name on the FedEx envelope were all different and had different addressees. As I had completed on-boarding documents as a new-hire, they now have front/back of my driver's license, my W-4 information including SSN, my address, my bank information, and my IDme.com login information which I can no longer access.
