I was offered a job, I was told to login to the website listed. I sent a W9 back to their payroll which contains my social security. I was told I’d be reimbursed for the purchase of the mailing materials ($200). I received an email stating I’d receive my paycheck via mail in 10 business days (this was on 11/13/23). It’s 11/28 and nothing yet.

I was searching for work from home positions on Indeed, LinkedIn, and Careerbuilder. I was contacted via email from Amy regarding my application. I then was contacted by Bailey Tibbs who stated she was the HR Department. She sent me an email regarding the Local Hub Specialist position that I applied for. THIS IS WHAT WAS ENTAILED IN MY EMAIL:

We are excited to share a newly created position at Alemeo that we are actively recruiting for. Alemeo offer order fulfillment and third-party shipping solutions for businesses. Please find the link at the bottom of this email and review the opening. You will find the job description, benefits, preferred skills, application instructions, and more. If you're still in the job market, we'd love to hear from you.

This new position allows you to work from the comfort of your own home. You are expected to work from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Everyone who is hired begins with a 30-day probationary period to assess their skillsets and suitability at Alemeo. A thorough performance analysis and assessment at the end of the probationary period will determine if a permanent position will be offered to you. Your salary during the probationary period will be $3200 and once you're offered a permanent position, you'll receive $3600. END EMAIL

It seemed too good to be true, however I accepted, and I signed a contract with the company in which I have all emails, messages, login information, and pictures still from this work. I was assigned a "curator" River Gittens. I was noticing that when in the system and messaging, it was not very professional and a lot of punctuation and grammatical errors. However, the packages were nothing weird or strange, it was normal packages. I was employed on 10/9/23 and was told that after my first month, my check will be mailed and that if given a permanent position, bi-weekly direct deposit will be available. I opted to continue and filled out an I9 form, as well as provided my address for the check to be mailed once I completed the 30 days. Upon 11/9, I received an email from the "Payroll Dept" for Alemeno stating that they were going through a merge with Ambition Quest INC, which just so happened to be a new business created in Sept of 2023 when I did my research on them. I was contacted by Bailey and stated that Alemeno was going bankrupt due to choices and that they will now be Ambition Quest. She said that they will be taking all assets, trusts, employees, etc and will now be in charge of your payment. I am still in contact with them in regards to this matter, however it seems to me like this has happened to other people before and is now happening to me. Thanks to everyone for posting about your scams as it truly helps other people.

Scammers got my information from Indeed website for work from home jobs. Offered me a position and a mthly salary of $3600.00 after a

30 day probation period. Job title is Local hub specialist. I would log into their portal website Mon-Friday 9-5, and check if any packages were being shipped to my address. I would have to check the system every hour from 9-5. Once package was delivered I would confirm what’s in the package, and upload tracking number, take pictures of the shipping label, upload the pictures, wait for a new shipping label. Once a new printed label was uploaded and printed then put on the package and take it to postal office and ship it to customer. They mainly used FedEX for me.

Once I told them it was a scam they still didn’t stop. I told them someone contacted me and said they saw packages coming to my home that they didn’t order- the company denied it. I filed a police report and they are still sending me packages and requesting that I send them back. I have not received payment and November 13 would be a month. I do not believe this is a real company. I requested a EIN and they provided a number but I have no way to track if it’s real.
