I hired Jarett Caldwell to repair sheetrock to attach corbels beneath granite countertop, put up two light fixtures in existing locations, repaint ore replace an existing exterior steel door and evaluate a squeaky subfloor. He came over to evaluate the tasks and with my permission tore up an area of carpet/padding to see what subfloor looked like. On the first day at my home, he tore up the vast majority of my carpet, with my permission but I did have to go to the bank Idaho Central Credit Union to pay him because I don't have checks and he can't accept direct credit card payments. I paid $5400 on 6/21 for supplies for flooring and replacement door. He returned with his ?father in-law? girlfriend's father? and that man installed the two lights. Not sure who repaired sheetrock and put in screw holders. The door, as it turned out was not the right size. Because I don't know about remodeling, I took their word for it that the new door from Home Depot wouldn't fit-deadbolt and door latch were indifferent positions on new and existing door. Between things Jarett indented that needed addition work on floor and front door, I began to question his ability. On Saturday morning, I called Jarett and asked him not to continue any work on my home. I said I'd pay him for his time and supplies and we were to meet at the bank today (6/27) at 1pm. Late morning he text messaged me to say he was in Cascade doing flooring and wouldn't be back in town until 3:30-4. I said I'd see him at 4. He didn't not communicate further. I waited at the bank and he didn't show up. I called his number and he didn't answer also does not have voicemail set up on his phone. He has made no effort to contact me about refunding me. I think I'm out a hunk of money and I feel like I'll have to file this under the "FOOL AND HER MONEY ARE SOON PARTED"
