We hire Nathan from Top Notch Masonry & Restoration (in Quinte West area, Trenton/Belleville) to re-finish our house foundation. Since May, he showed up 3 half days. He only removed the paint on half the house foundation and charged us for the full house removal (material deposit he said, not much material was involved here). He attempted to parge one small foundation wall, he didn't removed the debris and the paint at the ground level living paint expose and putting parging cement on the paint and it is not sticking (his job need to be removed and redone, it will cost me more money). He didn't clean anything like he said he would, he left every time after a few hours of work if so without cleaning his stuff and telling us anything, making a big mess everywhere. He was not showing up to do the job, he always have an excuse not to show up but he would not reach out to us to say he would not be there. Last excuse was the dye we didn't even want, not even in the contract. Even if he was texting us saying he would be there, he wasn't showing up and this lasted almost 2 months (contract was signed 30 May (30 days contract) for approx. 3-4 days of work and nothing as been done properly yet). He suggested many times to us to hire someone else, when we took his offer, he got offended and refused to give us back the amount we over paid saying we are the one ditching him. This contractor is extremely unprofessional and his stealing hard earn money from honest people. He doesn't do good work, doesn't clean after himself and cannot be trusted. We gave him almost 2 months for a 3-4 days work, 30 days contract was void due to be around 50 days later and no money was return to us because he couldn't show up and do the job like he said he would.
