The position was posted on Indeed.com for Topside Marina to employ a data entry clerk for their business at a rate of $35/hr. Not long after submitting a basic application they emailed me for random information. Then they emailed to let me know I had been selected for an interview and to download the "signal" app to move forward with and interview with Mrs Becknoy. I downloaded the app and messaged Mrs Becknoy. She invited me to an "interview." She sent a link to complete a questionnaire within 30 minutes of sending the link. I completed the document, sent a message on the Signal app and she replied that my short interview was over and she would follow up with admin and then with me. A background and identity check would also be necessary. The exact mission statement from the website was sent to me and the "job requirements" was sent in a message. I was then asked "does of the mentioned duties sound coamplicated or difficult to handle?" Less than 24 hours later I was accepted to the team and received an offer letter in my email from the company. I received the email from an address of "[email protected]" with an offer letter, tax documents, and a direct deposit form. My parents found out about the job and made me aware that this same scenario had been reported to the ScamPulse.com and that this is a scam. The scam alert was not on the Topside website when I researched them initially, but it has been added now.
