They communicated via email only. It was for a transcription job with ********* ******** Inc. Delaware. They signed their emails as Jacob Smith. Another email was signed as Andy ******, Human Resource Manager. I have a hunch Andy ****** may be his real name. He emailed me a check to print and had me mobile deposit it. My bank called me and told me there were two other people who had similar checks that they tried to deposit. She said the account for the check is blocked and frozen. She also said it looked fraudulent. The "employer" was planning to find a local vendor for me to pick up the software and computer equipment. I am sure they were planning for me to write a check for the "vendor" from my checking account. I called the company and left an email on their website and left a voicemail, but I did not receive any response. I did not reply back to my regular email he sent me. I have not heard back since. After I told him the deposit was successful, he told me that he would check back on the status update on the deposit, which was strange, because I already told him the deposit was successful. I am sure he was planning to have me meet a "vendor" who would have taken my check, and I do not think there was any vendor. It appears he is using this legitimate company as a guise for his scamming people. He sent me a transcription interview questionnaire and told me he'd update me on my grades, which sounded strange. He never updated me, and there was nothing to grade, so that was weird. He moved on with the employment agreement letter for me to sign, so most things looked clever and legit. The check had an error where my first name was typed twice in two different places.
