I purchased an item through a Facebook post. The post directed me to PayPal for payment. I received a tracking number via email but when I looked into it, this tracking number was associated with a purchase sent to a city of the same name where I live, but a different state. I immediately filed a dispute with PayPal. They contacted the seller who then provided a DIFFERENT tracking number and PayPal closed my case, despite me still not receiving the product. USPS looked into this tracking number and it was linked to an address in my city, but not my address. USPS provided me with the Intranet Tracking Form, which clearly showed this tracking number being sent and delivered to the wrong address. Once again because the “seller” provided a tracking number (even though it was NOT associated with my purchase), PayPal continually closes my case. They will not respond to my messages. It infuriates me because, evidently this was a popular scam in December 2019 and PayPal knew about it. It is still happening and they’ve done nothing to rectify the situation!
