• Jun 19, 2024

In this scenario, the victim saw an advertisement on Facebook for vacation packages at an attractive rate. Intrigued, they reviewed the offer and checked the company's credentials before deciding to purchase two packages, one for $316 to Quebec City and another for $366 to Canmore. After some time, the victim discovered that the company, Unsold.com, had ceased operations and cancelled all future travel reservations, including theirs.

The scammer likely used the advertisement to attract potential customers with enticing offers. They may have created a professional-looking website and used fake customer reviews to appear legitimate. Once customers like the victim made a purchase, the scammer disappeared, leaving no way for the victims to contact them or receive a refund.
