July 5, 2019 - Charged: Hazem El Maghraby and Travel Partner International Inc.
Mississauga, ONT. – The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) has charged Travel Partner International Inc. with one (1) count of operating as a travel agent without being registered. Mr. Hazem El Maghraby will appear in court at 60 Queen Street West in Toronto, Ontario on August 1, 2019.

This company called numerous times attempting to book a room on our company's behalf at an "exhibitor rate" for a trade show we're participating in. There are a variety of companies that say they have connections with the convention centers, hotels, etc. and our company is always hesitant to book through third party site. I'm pretty sure it's a well known scam. Anyway, you can tell they're a scam by their pushiness. They said they had rooms and that I had to stay on the phone while they faxed over information for me to fill out including CC info to ensure I would get the rates. I put them on hold while I was looking over the paperwork then called the hotel they claimed to be working with as well as the convention center they also said to be working with. Both had no idea who they were and said that they wouldn't be able to look up a partnership unless we were provided with the iata number. When I asked for the iata number saying that our owner was hesitant about the situation, she said they did not have one because they were not a travel agency. The hotel said they do not work directly with them. The woman on the phone then told me that they work with vendors who buy the rooms and then they get them to exhibitors at a discounted rate. When I said that I understood however it'd probably be best if we found something on our own since my owner was not comfortable providing his credit card info to a third party instead of accepting my "no, thank you" she became argumentative and pushy then hung up on me. I called the same hotel, booked directly with him and received a cheaper rate than the "discounted rate" she was offering me. Travel Partner International Inc is a scam.
