DO NOT talk to the agents and DO NOT give them your credit card information.
Make sure you're speaking to the airlines directly and make sure your credit card company supports you in the event of a fraud.
Sitting in a Quarantine resort in Bangkok on my 2nd day. I have 5 more days left. I have time to write a report and share my horrible experience with my fellow travelers. I don't normally write a review or a complaint. But in this case, I feel that it's important for innocent people to be aware of the scammers. My mission is to expose this company and have as many people write as many reports on them and put a stop to the crime they are committing.
January 23, 2022, Frantic, Stress out and extremely anxious waiting for my RT-PCR test result. My flight schedule to depart on January 24th, 6:15am. Meaning I have to get up at 3am and be at the airport by 4am.
For weeks. I've been dealing with Thai government and the frustration of having to provide them with all the proper documents in order to enter the country of my birthplace. The process was long, difficult and it took a toll on my health.
I kept receiving texts and calls from AIRLINE ASSISTANTS. I had no idea how they got my phone number. I had not slept well in days. I was exhausted and physically ill. I was not in the mood to talk to the agent. Finally, I returned to call at 1pm after seeing the text stating that I had to check-in or I may not be able to fly.
I tried to check-in, but I was not able to get my boarding passes. As I should have known, International flights must be checked in at the counter at the airport. I purchased my tickets directly from United Airlines.
The agent quickly informed me my middle name was missing spelled by one letter and that was the reason why I was not able to check in and I may not be able to fly. He would have to issue new tickets and it was over $5000.00. I had already paid United Airlines $2,483.77
I was stunned, dumbfounded, angry and disturbed. WTF. He kept me on the phone for 68 minutes 44 seconds. I was suffering from lack of sleep, massive migraine and abdominal pain. All I needed was more stress. I have all our conversations on my phone and I will use it in court. He informed me he spoke to his supervisor. He would do me a favor, charge me $639.80 and he would take care of everything. Obviously he knew
I was not in the best condition. I found myself in a dilemma. Naturally, I told him to go ahead and do what he needed to do. I have a family waiting for me and doctors appointments in Thailand after February 2nd when I check out from Quarantine hotel.
Perfect opportunity for the scammer to take advantage of a desperate sick old woman.
He charged my credit card and change nothing! United Airlines and ANA Airlines had no issues with my name. I had all the proper documents to transit Japan and enter Thailand. I was speechless after I spoke with the airlines agents and I was informed that I was scammed and they will not be able to refund the money.
There's not much I can do at this point until I return to the USA March 3rd and dispute the charge.
GOOD HEALTH, PEACE, JOY AND HAPPINESS to all my fellow travelers.
I was Bamboozled
I called my card and delta right away - thankfully delta cancelled his ticket that he booked for me and rebooked it. As for the 421 service charge AMEX states they have seen this a lot before and even with the signed document they will not stand for this fraud and are disputing it and further investigating. The fraud investigator and I also tried to call the number provided in the charge on my AMEX and the number would just hang up...A lot of red flags I missed because of being in a hurry, I am just grateful to Delta and AMEX for being understanding and helpful in this embarrassing situation.
I just searched the company online and the first item that came up was a Facebook post that this company was unethical and deceptive.
I made many calls to Travel Pad with no avail. VISA said there is nothing they can do, because they need proof of other method of payment (JetBlue letter stating the Voucher was used was not sufficient. Now I am out of $420. 15.
Its difficult to take Travel Service Pad to court because they are in Florida and I am in Connecticut.
