This “business owner” drove up to my house noticing a dead tree on my property. He named a fair price for the removal of the dead tree and the trimming of a row of other trees. After less than 45 minutes of work (for a $1000 fee agreement), he told me he was done. When I noticed he had only trimmed half of the agreed upon trees, he said he didn’t understand I meant both rows even though I verified and my husband overheard and confirmed. the owner said it would be an additional $800 (nearly double the original amount) to finish the job. I wish to make the public aware of this scam. Additionally, the owner used fear tactics to pressure me into contracting his business that day. He told me the dead tree (which had died within one year) was at risk for falling and crushing someone soon which is so far from the truth. He also lied and told me he lives 3 hours away and wouldn’t be back in the area, but I have since confirmed he is local.
