TrekHops is a scam, and at least the two people I spoke with, one of them supposedly being a manager, are liars completely lacking integrity. In November 2021, I needed to cancel my flight with United because the destination country went on covid lockdown a week before my trip. I cancelled directly with United and did not even realize my travel credit was processed through a different company. Earlier this month (April 2022), I spent 2 hours 40 minutes on the phone with United trying to use my travel credit on a new flight, and they couldn't help me. My account was showing credit available, but it wasn't able to be applied as a payment method. At some point, I searched through my email again and found the original cancellation confirmation, which said the only way to redeem the credit would be by calling TrekHops directly. I called them and was told I had to pay a $150/person "rebooking fee." After I said I want going to pay anything because I had already paid $75/person back in November to even get the travel credit, they said they could lower the rebooking fee to $75/person. Just like that, split it in half. Considering I want expecting to pay any fee and just to be able to use my travel credit, I still refused and asked to speak with a manager. The "manager" said the best he could do was charge me $50/person, and that after that, I would still have $900 travel credit left to spend for which I wouldn't have to pay a rebooking fee again and would be able to spend it all for one person (the original credit was split between three travelers). I ended up going for it and paid $150 with my credit card, seeing house I didn't really have a choice. They booked my flight, and the confirmation email conveniently did not include any dollar amount for the tickets, just that I paid the $150, so I couldn't tell quite how much they ended up charging me. However, I shortly got a confirmation from United (directly this time) that I got a $600 credit on my account, split evenly between the three original passengers. So, instead of the $900 I was supposed to have left of my travel credit based on the ticket price and what the TrekHops "manager" had told me on the phone, I got $300 less. The price of the ticket when I tried to purchase it on the United app was ~$260, and it looks like they charged me $360. The whole situation is absurd, and I wish I could do something to get my money back.

Booked flight on Alaska Airlines and it appeared to be off by one day even though I was certain I booked the correct date. I received an email confirmation showing the incorrect date. I then called the number on the receipt. They said the flight was more expensive and that I needed to pay the difference. They sounded very legit and all the branding looked like Alaska Airlines but it wasn't. They took my credit card and then called me and told me it was declined and they needed another one. At that point I became suspicious.
