However, what I got was a driveway approx 1/4 inch thick with an ugly long strip of an entirely different shade, a pothole within months, sunken places and unsightly wavy edges, all within the first year.
The owner ignored my repeated texts to the same number we previously communicated and setup the job through and did not make any attempt to contact me at all until I hired an attorney to send him a demand letter. Only then did he randomly and unexpectedly show up in my driveway within seconds of me getting home from work (kind of creepy as I live out in the country and get home at different times every day….seems he was almost stalking me)
When I got out of my truck to speak with him he made excuse after excuse for the failure to deliver the product he signed a contract with me to deliver. He also “offered” to cut out the noted sections ONLY and patch my blemished and extremely thin brand new driveway.
He refused to properly correct the extreme deficiencies along the entire length of the driveway..stating multiple reasons such as the discoloration of the one long strip where he drove his roller over the fresh asphalt instead of walking was not his fault but rather the asphalt itself (which is the same asphalt as the rest of the driveway that isnt discolored) and that it was only that thin where the pothole form (in the middle of my driveway) but the rest is the contracted 2 inch thickness.
He was referred to my attorney but since has disappeared, shut his business down (for now) and is currently being searched for by deputies to be served the civil lawsuit for restitution of my losses. However, he is hiding…with my money and who knows who else’s. He scammed me into paying for something he did not deliver and is now on the run from at least one lawsuit.

Including money paid, attorney fees and future cost of repair…I am approaching a $22,000 loss here!!
