Type of a scam Employment
[email protected] for signing paper work. The paper work was not typical hiring paperwork, but it is a pandemic so I did not question it. Jobs usually make you sign a bunch of paperwork, go over rules, expectations, harassment, etc. before even training. I kept asking when were we going to go over it sign it wasn’t addressed initially. She said once I get my check deposited. They sent me a check to pay for equipment $5000, so I can work from home. When I deposited the check, even the banker looked at me weird. That’s when I began to question. From all my jobs, I have never had a check put on hold immediately... this one was, I told her that and she insisted I send her my driver’s license and social security pictures, front and back. As soon as she said that I knew it had to be a scam. After reading other reports of similar situations, I’m positive this is a scam. I sent my driver’s license for the initial hire, so that’s all that was compromised, but that is enough for me to feel unsafe.
