The scammer pretended to be another companies, requesting for ID.me credential, SSN, address, name, and phone number. Then they sent a fake check claiming it from their partner and asked the victim to cash it. Later they will request for Western Union for cash back since they sent an amount much higher than the equipment cost that they requested the victim to buy.
