TRT Events Reports & Reviews (1)

- Westminster, CO, USA

I am a small business owner making handcrafted jewelry, my business name is Whimsyskull.

On 8/19/2019 TRT Events created an ad for an event on FB through a group named Colorado Vendor and Craft shows (this is a group that promotes vendor opportunities for handcrafted items and direct sales). TRT was looking for 40 vendors of handmade crafts. Event to be held at the Holiday Inn Lakewood 7390 W. Hampden Ave. Lakewood, CO. This was a 2 day event for Sat-Sun Oct. 5-6th, 2019 called Clash of the Crafters.

I inquired, sent pictures of the jewelry, was sent a registration form, I registered on 8/19 and paid the fee of $200.00, I was immediately accepted and received an email indicating I would receive follow up emails re: advertisement, set up as the time got closer. As of 9/23 I had not received any information regarding the event so I sent an email inquiring. I immediately received an email from Adrian Williams explaining that there was an error with my email and I hadn't received the follow up email indicating of the change. Adrian Williams explained the event had been postponed until March 2020. Stating there weren't enough valued vendors for the Sponsor. (It was advertised as a juried event and offering a $250. prize to the vendor with the best craftsmanship/skill, creativity/originality, appearance/presentation, winner would be selected by the shoppers.) 40 vendors X $200. =$8,000.00

I was offered 2 additional dates in Nov & Dec. I emailed Adrian stating I was unhappy I had already committed elsewhere for Nov & Dec and wanted a refund. Adrian said she would grant me a refund. Two days went by and nothing. on 9/25 I emailed Adrian stating I thought I was being scammed, and was reporting her to the police, AG's office, & BBB. According to Adrian she sent me an image indicating a credit was issued

to my credit card and it would take a week to process. I called Capitol 1, they advised to wait 1 week. I waited until 10/4/19 called Capitol 1 again inquire, was told there were no pending transactions. I initiated a dispute. Capitol 1 contacted the merchant TRT Events to await their response. Today 10/16/19 I emailed Adrian Williams of TRT Events, to again state there was no credit pending and was told that because I initiated a dispute my credit had been put on hold. I called Capitol 1 again and was told there has been NO RESPONSE from TRT Events.

THEY ARE SCAMMING PEOPLE.

1) Credits are usually applied within 3-5 days. Not 7. I didn't initiate dispute until day 7. THERE WAS NO CREDIT PENDING . IT WAS A LIE

According to Adrian there are two other events they are sponsoring at the Holiday Inn Lakewood 7390 Hampden Ave, Lakewood, CO

1) Homemade Holiday Crafts and Decor on Nov.16-17, 2019 40 vendors X $200. = $8,000.00

2) Holiday All I Want for Christmas on Dec. 21-22, 2019 40 Vendors X $200. = $ 8,000.00

I believe they're raking it in. and scamming people for $24,000.00 is alot of money. These people are getting away with!!
