TruDoc Spoof Reports & Reviews (3)

Same scam scheme as above, very elaborate. They contact you and send you a link to meet with a recruiter via teams. They take you through an extensive interview process (via teams, very weird, should have known then). Then they "accept" you a few days later. After signing off on employment docs and submitting personal information for a background check, your team leader, "Robert Alexander" then explains how you will get upfront money to buy all your office supplies. I got tipped off when they asked for my id.me username AND password. No money was lost, thankfully, but I did have to freeze all my credit reports just in case they go the credit route. Seems they might just want money, but in the meantime, you can never be too safe.

Received the following email, but researched the HR email listed and found nothing on the person. Also found other scam reports how companies will use chat software to avoid being reported or traced. Below you can see what a typical scam email looks like.

The scammer posed as a real doctor and used their image within Microsoft Teams in order to communicate and ask for money upfront for setting up a home office with equipment. They also wanted you to create a brand new bank account that they would send funds to for this purpose. I did not do that; however, I did send payments through Zelle, and also Apple and Steam Gift cards totaling $3400.00 At first, I searched them online and did not see the scam. However, yesterday I saw the website scampulse.com where another individual described the same scenario as mine. I believe the real Dr. Robert Alexander and Isabelle Fernandez that appear to be legitimately employed by TruDoc should know that this is going on. There was also someone named Barbara who emailed from [email protected], who is obviously involved as well. These individuals requested that I scan my driver's license and social security card for identity verification before beginning employment and that is why I have reported them to the FBI.
