Still thinking this was from my friend, I opened the link, which seemed to be appropriate for a health issue I am currently experiencing. Since (redacted by ScamPulse.com staff) is a close friend, I opened the above mentioned link. While looking for the price, I did not realize I had been charged at total of $242.03 (Item # 1, $217.67 + $24.36, Item #2), for products I did not intend to order, rather just check prices, only to find the an order (actually 2 orders) was actually placed and had been completed.
I immediately (literally seconds later) called customer service to cancel the order, to which their Customer Service person (Tensey) stated they cannot stop the order once it is placed. They said they would discount Item #1 $217.67 by 50%, and would refund me 50%, for 1 item, which has been returned to my checking account $107.84. The second item for $24.36 can only be refunded after I return both items. They will also refund me $107.84 when both products are returned to them. At this point I am unsure what to do. Because I paid with a debit card, the bank could not stop payment. The bank said the company has a “no refund” policy, which does not allow them to block payment or negotiate with this company. At no time did I see a policy for returns/refunds during this process – because I did not intend to buy anything, just checked the price.
There seems to be 2 scams here:
1. The unauthorized use of someone’s name attached to another email address: [email protected]
2. Confusing website designed with techniques to lure people into making unwanted purchases</[email protected]>
