Total money lost $5,000
Type of a scam Moving
July 22 - Driver Alex brought a 17-foot or smaller truck to move my three bedroom home with basement and garage for my move and there was already some other people’s household goods on the truck. They could only fit two-thirds of my stuff. Eric the driver kept telling me ‘don’t take this, don’t take that, you don’t need this....’ etc. They were crushing my stuff to get it all on the truck. They made me pay $8,000 or they would take everything off the truck. They said they would have to come back with another truck the following day.
July 23 - Trullia came back with a 26-foot truck and finished loading everything. Eric demanded more money.
July 24 - I left Colorado.
July 27 - I arrived in North Carolina. I arranged for delivery on August 16.
August 16 - Truck arrived in afternoon. I told the supervisor that I wanted everything marked Kitchen to be put in kitchen; everything marked Fragile to be put in kitchen; everything marked Christmas to be put in bonus room upstairs; and everything else to be put in garage.
The crew who were unloading the truck started putting stuff in the garage that didn’t belong to me so I told them to take everything out. I took a picture of two items sitting in the garage. I told them what I told the supervisor. They started yelling that the driver told them to put EVERYTHING in the garage. They argued with the supervisor for over an hour demanding more money if they had to sort the items and climb stairs because he had lied to them. Meanwhile, no work was getting done. So the crew quit and drove away. They sat for another hour waiting for a new crew. I explained the same thing to that crew.
The new crew were throwing heavy boxes of books on top of boxes marked fragile and very fragile crushing them and breaking items.
When they had gotten everything off of the truck I noticed things missing, mostly large items. I asked the supervisor where my stuff is and he said he didn’t know. He said make a list. So I hand wrote a list of things that were obvious to me right away that were not on the truck. I told him that the list is not complete until I have a chance to go through everything and I handed it to him.
They had things sitting along the side of the truck while they were sitting for two hours doing nothing so I took pictures. It turns out these were the missing items of another female senior citizen who I tracked down.
Later this woman (who received her household goods after mine were delivered from the same truck) told me she saw all my missing items on the truck, which means my missing items were left on the truck when they delivered my household goods.
They never gave me copies of the Bill of Lading so I took pictures of the pages. Several of my missing items were not listed.
Once my unpacking was complete I began calling daily at first trying to locate my missing items. Half the the time they didn’t answer the phones. Other times they told me they would check it out and get back to me. They would never call me back.
I have never received a response from the claims department.
When I threatened legal action they said they had a truck coming to me. The driver (Alex) called me that night and said he wouldn’t be to my house until after 10:00 but he didn’t come. Later I found out that he called dispatch and he lied and told them that he arrived at my house late that night and knocked and rang the doorbell and said I wasn’t home. Now I have dogs that bark at every sound. I live in the middle of a cul de sac and they would have barked if they heard a large truck. And they would have gone crazy if someone knocked or rang the doorbell. I stayed awake until midnight and no one came.
The next day I called asking where my stuff was and they said the driver drove to Louisiana with my stuff supposedly on the truck. I lost the trail after that.
I didn’t call for 3+ weeks and no one has called me so I called them and got more promises, no action. And I was told by Brittney to stop bothering them. She is now avoiding my calls and won’t return messages.
October 31 - I called and spoke to Julia who usually answers the phone and I demanded to know where my stuff is. She told me to call claims which I have done several times in the past. I asked for Alex (the driver who had my furniture last) and said she was the only one there. But I could hear someone who sounded an awful lot like Alex in the background coaching her on what to say. Finally he told her to say my stuff would be coming (which they have said for months).
November 2 - I still do not have my belongings.

I ended up paying this company over $15,000 but the estimate was just over $2,000. My missing and damaged household goods are worth approximately $5,000 or more.
I have pictures of my damaged items and some of my missing items.
I have tracked two other female senior citizens which makes me think they may be targeting this particular group of Americans. Trullia is made up of mostly Russian men.
I don’t understand the question below but the picture shows a few of the boxes delivered.
