Trusted home service knocked on my door said they were giving me a nest thermostat I told them I don’t need it I have one the guy said take it because it’s free but said he just needed my address and phone number on a form just to show where it was going to. Later that day I received a phone call saying it was them and they said I qualified for all these grants from some duct purification, water heater, nest doorbell camera and carbon Monoxide detector as well as a google home. I was told it would be $225 a month but I would receive $198 a month in grants and they needed a void cheque to deposit the grant money then I would pay the the $225 every month after I received the money. Really thought it was a good deal. So they dropped everything off and hooked up the water heater and purifier and they were sending someone too hook up the doorbell but that was the last I heard from them until I tried calling them about no grants were being deposited so I tried called and some would answer and say I’ll call you back and no one would. I went to renew my mortgage there was A lien on my house so my lawyer called them and told them what they were doing is illegal so they removed the lien. After that they tried contacting them for three months to ask about the grants and nobody would ever call me back so I gave up. Then in January I noticed that they were taken $225 out of my bank so I called the guy in charge finally got through his name is Richard he apologize for everything and told me he was going to come down and redo everything and make sure I was to get everything I was promised. The day he was to come I waited he didn’t show up I called he said he was busy and couldn’t make it but he would be there the next week I called him about 40 times leaving messages he refused to call me back so then I started to contact trusted home service office I contacted them and every single time I was told the manager to call me back in 10 minutes this went on from January till March 30th when they started to block my number and send it straight to voice message. They were sending someone out to pick up all their equipment but I told him I wanted the three payments that they took out of my bank back in January 1 time I talk to Richard he told me he was going to stop the payments from coming out of my bank and he was putting in an order for me to get the 225 if they took out of my account returned but it never came back and the stop payments were not stopped because they took payment in February and a payment in March..They were sending someone out to pick up all their equipment but I told him I wanted the three payments that they took out of my bank back in January 1 time I talk to Richard he told me he was going to stop the payments from coming out of my bank and he was putting in an order for me to get the 225 if they took out of my account returned but it never came back and the stop payments were not stopped because they took payment in February and a payment in March. March 30th they sent someone to my house to get the equipment but I had called them and said I want my money back before I give back the equipment. I talked a lady named shay on March 30th and she told me the money was going to be returned by the end of the day and then I was to call them to come pick there stuff up. No money was returned so I called them the next day March 31 the same girl answered and told me they weren’t giving my money back until they got their equipment so I asked him to send a certified check with the guy picking up the equipment to give me the money and I will give them their equipment they hung up on me and have received to answer any of my messages.

Door to door orange logoed shirts with Nest Pro, CHICC and Trusted Home Service logos. Install Nest products with intention of taking Green rebates from your utility company as Ford will be stopping these rebates. 3 different bundles to choose . camera, 2 smoke/ carbon dioxide and thermostat Nest products installed. Ask for VOID cheque. Not clear if they are working as Trust Home Service or CHICC employees. Not sure if Nest Pro aware this scam. Phone numbers are from individuals that do not answer with company name. No account # provided, no follow up.

The Ministry of Consumer and Business Services should be made aware of this scam. Returned saying the had to check furnace and air because I was saving 17% instead of 40%. Both were new. Then started trying to have water softener and dehumidifier installed with increase to my agreement. Never installed, no copy of agreement provided . BIG confusion regarding who they work for.
