I received a notice from Trustee Loss Mitigation that states: "According to records obtained through the county your property located at XXXXX is now eligible for a bankruptcy debt relief and interest rate reduction under a new federal program." The letter uses the seal of the Equal Housing Opportunity, a federal agency, on the upper right hand side. My bankruptcy was in another state than the one I'm living in now, and my real estate is located in a third state. The address referenced on the letter is my postal mailing address and is not my property. So clearly they are sending this letter out to people's postal addresses who have filed a bankruptcy, and the notice has nothing to do with the property on the notice as I do not own it and never have.

The last line of the letter states: "This will be our final attempt to contact you before this special federal program ends." This federal program is mentioned several times in the letter but the program itself is never named and I have been unable to find any evidence that it exists when doing research.

This looks like a scam to me.

Lastly, the company name on the envelope is labeled "Trustee Mitigation" - the trustee is the person who handles a bankruptcy case and so I thought this was from my trustee when clearly it was not.

Please see attached document. I called and tried to get more information about this company. The woman I spoke with told me it was a "company consulting office" and when I tried to get more info I was hung up on.
