Vehicle Report Services

The scammer said they saw my ad on RVtrader.com. They asked a number of questions about the RV like was I the original owner, any accidents or known issues with the unit. Then I was asked what I wanted for the coach, and I gave them my asking price. They made me an offer $500.00 below what I was asking, then could we meet tomorrow at 4pm and said that would be fine. They then asked if I had a vehicle inspection report, and I told them I had a CARFAX report. He said he did not like CARFAX and told if I could a fresh report from trustywheel.com I went to that site and my software had the site on their blacklist. I told the buyer that, and he said I have used that site for my own vehicle and asked me to use it and that it's a trusted site. I told them I found the Trusty wheel site on BBB.com scammer list, and the guy went dark.

I am selling my motorhome and have it listed on RV Trader. I received a text from James who was interested in purchasing it. We texted back and forth with questions and he asked if I had a vehicle history report. I told him I had a carfax report but he said he did not trust it and I asked which VHR he preferred. He gave me a website for Trusty Wheel www.trustywheel.com. I went to the site which seemed legit and ordered a report for Vehicle report for $39 andI paid for it with my Visa CC. The next day he asked me if I had receive the report and I had not so he asked to see a copy of my receipt and gave me his email which was [email protected]. He then asked me to contact trustywheel.com to find out why I had not received the report. I went to the trustywheel.com website and used the chat box to ask when the report would be sent to me. The chat said it had been sent to my email and I checked and there it had just arrived. I looked at the report and it was a very basic document but had my vehicle information. i forwarded it ot the email James had sent me. James then said he would com the next day a look at my motorhome and buy it if he liked it. James never showed up and texted me with a sob story about his company being robbed. When I called the phone number 315-662-0098 James was texting from there was no response, just a dial tone. I then realized I had been scammed and that James now had my personal information Name, address, phone number, and CC number.

I have since cancelled my credit card.

I cannot believe I fell for this one.
