The scammer posted a 2007 Shelby GT500 with 5k miles for $18,500 on craigslist. This car goes for $40,000 usually. The scammer used the name Stephanie McGuire and told me she was moving to Canada because her husband was the German Ambassador for Canada. She will be moving in a week, and she needs the car sold. THIS is why she was selling it so cheap. I emailed for about half a day and asked if I could pick the car up with cash in hand. She then emails me back, saying the car was at a company called TUVship in Nashville, and they will contact me about payment and shipment of the vehicle. By now, I'm 99% sure this is a scam. I called the "shipping" company, and explained to the man, who did not sound like anyone I know in Nashville, and asked if it was possible to pick the car up in person being "I live 20 minutes out of Nashville." The man was very quick to tell me he has made a deal with Mrs. McGuire, and they need to ship the car so they can receive payment. He then became angry with my "confusion" and said he had other customers to tend to. Later I found the car for sale on eBay at a dealership in Florida for $40,000. All the cars on their website are too good to be true. Stick to meeting local, and buying from a certified dealership.
