Day three in a row of getting various employment related scams. Claimed to be a Roselyn Hall from the Twilio Company. You apply for one remote job on Indeed and find out the company that was supposedly hiring wasn't even on Indeed. Be careful with your remote work searches folks, this is awful.

I was contacted via text message about a job I did not apply for, stated they found my resume on Indeed and I was qualified for a work from home position. I was then told to get on Skype and contact Thomas Hansen. Everything was done via text, no calls or face time. Within minutes I had the position. He told me the company would be sending me a check to purchase the materials needed to complete the job. This was today so I guess we will see if I get a check (but I do not plan to cash it!) I did some research and there was no job listing on the Twilio website that showed this position they were trying to hire me for and also found this note at the bottom of the Twilio job search page

"A notice to Twilio applicants

Twilio and our recruiters only direct candidates to apply through our official careers page at www.Twilio.com/company/jobs. Twilio will never refer you to external websites, ask for payment or personal information, or conduct interviews via messaging apps like WhatsApp. We receive all applications through our website, and anyone suggesting otherwise is not with Twilio."

So be aware!!

Thanks for this info. Original text came from a “Katie Brown” saying I needed to contact Thomas Hansen via Skype chat. Same as you, within minutes I have a position that starts next Monday. ALL sounded shady and I personally called Twilio to their HR and spoke with someone in sales dept to escalate issues to hire ups. They just had a data breach three days ago. Nothing is getting cashed and ALL if any thing comes to me is being returned to sender
