I received an email from Indeed.com with a company called UBFit hiring. I went through the application process and was invited to make a personal trainer profile on their UBFit app. After uploading all the information requested for the profile (resume, drivers license pic, insurance, trainer certification, CPR certification), I paid the $80 fee to be a trainer on their platform. I did not have to sign a "terms and conditions" and there is no information on any kind of refund policy. I immediately felt uneasy about my purchase and wanted to delete my account and get a refund. I attempted to delete my account using the "delete account" option in my profile but it came up as "error." I then went on a search to find how to cancel my online profile. Somehow I found information saying I had to email them and submit a written request to cancel. I went ahead and wrote the email requesting to cancel and to have my money refunded. They wrote back within 24 hours and said they are sorry to see me go, that there were no refunds and I would have to respond to this email if I wanted them to cancel my profile so I wouldn't be charged next time for the yearly marketing fee. I have written back 5 times to say yes, cancel my account and to please send me a confirmation the cancellation has occurred and I have received no such reply. I have since filed a fraudulent claim to my bank about the $80 charge, put a block on my debit card and have had a new card issued to me. I have also reported this company to scamadvisor.com.
