Let’s just say scammers

Sounded like a dream job. Paid for supplies. But $4k worth of supplies for what?!?!?!
When my bank flagged the check. They asked me to purchase your own supplies and everything was step by step. Nothing was set in place like lay out the steps. A, B, C, D no. Everything was once this is done then we will guide you to this.
As soon as they asked for USERNAME AND PASSWORDS! Like why then I wouldn’t give it to them. They moved to credit card numbers! Now what do my username, passwords, or CC# got to do with getting a job.
Scammers y’all got smart but y’all questions are dumb!

Scammers posed as a remote position. Initial response was how I could work from home making 37.00 per hour being a data entry/administrator assistant. Check was mailed to me for over $@4,000 and was to be used to purchase office equipment for an at home setup. Check was received on 9-1-23 and my regional bank declined check for being fraudulent and kept said check. However, I invested $120 of my own funds to have software installed on a laptop which was to be provided by company. Funds were distributed to a so called vendor so he could install. No such thing happened and since the event no other contact has been made by me or the so called company regarding a refund of my money.

I was approached through text first by a "Mr. Gil Collins" who said I had in interview with a company called "The Unbound Group PLC" and would need to speak via Skype to my interviewer. Initially, I complied with this and spoke with a "Mrs Margaret B. Hunter" to start this process. Already this was weird, but I went forward with this "interview" and would be told what the company is all about, what it does, pay, and hours, along with what I'd do. The strangest part is that the interviewer refused to speak, so instead everything was done through text. It was standard in questions, and proceeded what I thought was normal, but it very much was not. They said that they'd send me a laptop and check to purchase the software for the accounting needed, which was suspicious, then told me they couldn't send it. So instead they asked to send a check via email, and have me by it from the vendor myself. This is where I began to call all the numbers provided, from the banks, the former headquarters, and the ScamPulse.com itself. All conclude that this is a scam.
