Saturday, August 10, 2019, 4:30 pm an African American man, nicely dressed, walked up our driveway. Stated he was selling magazines as part of a group to keep himself off the streets away from drugs etc. I stated I wasn't interested in any magazines for myself. He had a binder of different levels and the option to donate the magazines to St. Judes Childrens Hospital. He had a clipboard of others in the area who had given. Listed names, comments on his presentation, and donors profession. Very nice and VERY GOOD at scamming. Some had given upwards of $2500. I was out $226.00. I was given the second part of invoice sheet. Back side stated, "All checks issued to Undivided Nation are held for 3 business days before deposited. You the buyer may cancel your order any time prior to midnight of the third business from the date of the transaction. Call the office at (317)600-0324 to cancel. DO NOT stop payment on the check. Any fees incurred to Undivided Nation from a stopped payment are subject to prosecution for recovery in a court of law." Who reads the fine print? I did on the following Wednesday. Found out the check had been cashed on the first business day; 8-12-19. I closed out my checking account and reported it to our local sheriff. I tell my 80 southing year old father to be hesitant to people, phone calls, etc and I fell for it.

Man came to my door selling magazines for points. If he meets his goal he becomes mentor for young people like himself who need help. I could order magazines for myself or for an organization, like St Jude’s or Wounded Warrior.
