Unifiedlife.com Reports & Reviews (2)

1) I found unified health online

2) I chose it because it was solely partnered with Sutter (June 31st)

3) They took a double payment of ˜$250 ($500)

4) I called to complain but no one answered the phone ten times

3)My husband needed his dosage of Effexor monitored and so we called Sutter and asked who could see him the earliest that was in Network

3a) I was on hold with the advice nurse while she was trying to get through to them. She eventually stopped trying as a hospital employee and started pressing directory buttons as though she was interested in purchasing health insurance; she got through immediately.

3b) She verified with unified that we were in network to go see Doctor Huey in Sutter’s internship program

4) When we arrived for our appointment we told the front desk that we could not afford this appointment unless we were covered and to please make sure that we were in-network. They verified with unified life that yes we were in-network.

5) After the appointment we again checked with the front desk staff that we owed zero dollars per the health insurance coverage that we chose with unified; they confirmed that we owed $0 because we were in network.

6) A week later we got a call from Sutter that we were denied coverage.

7) We spent weeks trying to get a hold of someone from unified. After getting hung up on twice and the call bounced around 5 times we ended up in the first department we called anyway. We asked them to send the initial plan coverage details via email. We asked them to stay on the phone until we received the email; we never received it. As a matter of fact, we’ve never received a single email from them at all, no confirmation, no nothing.

Conclusion: Unified Life says that a person is fully covered and in-network to make sales and then retracts those statements when they are billed.

- New Boston, NH, USA

I obtained a universal life insurance policy through the State of NH as an employee many years ago that was offered through the state's union. We were told that they were no longer carrying this policy for state employees but we could keep the coverage by paying for it on our own. I did that, however recently began receiving letters saying that I wasn't paying the bill and to remit payment so my policy wouldn't lapse. I looked up my bank statements and found the payments. I tried to call their customer service line, but it kept going into the menu options and reverted back to the beginning - it never went anywhere. I sent a certified letter showing my payment and that I wouldn't continue payments until I heard from them. I just got a letter now stating that I owed them the next month's payment with no explanation of what happened. I tried to call again but couldn't get through. I went online and found lots of feedback about this company and I'm concerned about making another payment and wonder what support the state would give me and/or what to do about this company I no longer trust.
