The scammer is offering online pet adoptions, claiming to be a reputable in home breeder who works with a pet transportation service (Boothdoor Pet Delivery Service which also looks to be a scam possibly owned by the same person) to safely transport your pet to you for an additional fee . They provide you with multiple photos/videos of the pet that you're interested in and tell you quite a bit about their personality. They then ask you a bunch of questions to make sure you'd be a good home for the pet. Once they clear you for adoption, they ask you to transfer the total amount of the pet and transportation costs through the Zelle App in two separate fees to make the wiring process smoother. They then send you the pet's registration paperwork and ask you to sign and return it to transfer the pet's ownership to your name which all looked pretty legit.

As soon as the pet has supposedly been received by the transportation service, that company then reaches out to you to provide you with the flight schedule and arrival details, and then again to inform you that due to COVID-19 regulations, the pet requires an "Electronic Thermal Crate" to protect them in flight before it can be safely transported which they request additional payments of $850-$1300 depending on what crate you chose.

As soon as I saw that email requesting more funds that were even higher than the initial price for the pet, I was certain it was a scam and Googled it where I found numerous online forums where people fell victim to almost the same scams and tactics. I'm quite certain that there is no actual pet, and since payments are transferred directly from your bank account using Zelle, there's no way to dispute the charges,
