I was shopping online for airfare. I was on united airline website. At least I thought I was to purchase a ticket for $493. I thought was a great deal. I printed it out it says united airline. The following morning I get numerous calls saying there wasn't a seat available on the fight I purchased . I can either upgrade or loosey money. They were trying to convince me by numbers of call for three days . For me to purchase another airfare for $900 . The whole conversation was odd . So I looked on website I learned that this company isn't even licensed n that they do this to alot of people. So I want to try n put a stop to it it's not fair plus I think they have my personal info.

1. I intended to go to a business meeting in Berlin on Nov.2 and booked flight UA962 for Nov. 1, 2023 from Newark to Berlin with my **** Master Card. Supposed to take off at 6 PM on Nov. 1, at about 2:15 AM on Nov. 2 we were told it would leave the next day at 8 PM (26 hours late!) I had missed my business meeting in Berlin.

2. I phoned what I believed to be United Airlines at 1:47 AM (Nov. 2: 855 758 1772—you can find this on Google!) to request a flight to Hamburg instead of Berlin. For a flight from JFK to Frankfurt (LH041) and from Frankfurt to Hamburg (LH0002), the “Airline Tickets” person on the phone charged me an extra. $457.80!!! This was United’s fault as United has since agreed, according to its own standards.

3. The new flight to Hamburg over Frankfurt was on Lufthansa, LH401 and LH 002 tickets: ************* on Nov. 3. Indeed, the person to whom I spoke at “Airline Tickets” and with whom I booked for Hamburg never explained that I could have had a free United flight!! Instead, I was offered Lufthansa to Hamburg. I paid the $457.80 by credit card. When I phoned United during that day [18008648331-the real number), they told me to ask for a reimbursement when I returned from abroad.

4. Airtickets Us Support (name of “company”) and [email protected] (email address) took my money, has refused to return it, telling me to “wait.” I spoke with someone calling himself “Kevin.” I assume he took the money from me, and got the reimbursement from United!! Cool scam.

5. Why isn’t United doing something about this? Perhaps the ScamPulse.com can urge United to trace these scammers? In the meantime my BANK returned the money to me

Our United flight was cancelled. I went online to get the phone number for United. I thought i was on the phone with United but now know it was a Travel Angency or some trsvel desk. They used my original conformation to make it look like they were fixing my flight. In my united app it looks like i wasnt charged for tjis flight but i was and now i can not get my money back. I also had my 81 year old mother with me.
