We were given a moving quote based on 350cubic feet to keep the price low. We have a four bedroom house which every other company quoted as at least 700 cubic feet. The company gets you into a contract at a lower rate knowing the price will go up once they have your belongings on the truck.

They reached out to me to give a quote on moving. I took it. They followed up to get my final moving list approved. I submitted two deposits, now no movers have shown up.

i spoke to a representative named nick, claiming to be a supervisor in regards to my move. He gave me a military discount, a great quote, told me they price match their competitors, and made me feel like i was making the right decision. He told me my total was $2,327.97, and after getting quotes of $6,000+ that sounded too good to me. He then told me i had to leave $967 deposit. i told him i would give him a call back, he then insisted i make the deposit now to assure i keep the rate he quoted me. i left the deposit and he assured me he would be my person of contact. He repeatedly told me i could call the office, or him directly, giving me his "personal number" and telling me i could also reach him through text and email. the day after i made the reservation, i had a few more questions so i called him, and he didnt answer. i left a message and also texted him. the next day i called, texted and emailed, still no response. i started to get a feeling that i got scammed, so i called my bank to put a stop payment on the check i gave him over the phone. i closed that account and was able to keep my money. A week later when he tried to cash the check, after it was returned, his "finance department" called me to tell me my check bounced. I told the lady i wanted to cancel my reservation. she said she would relay the message to my representative. Not 5 minutes after i speak to this lady, Nick calls me. I asked why i havent been able to contact him, he says he had a family emergency and says he doesnt understand why i wanted to cancel. I explained my thoughts, he proceeded to call me broke bitch and said i wasted his [censored]ing time. he said my check bounced cause im broke, and if i knew i didnt have any money why would i waster his time which is completely unprofessional. i asked to speak to manager and he told me no way and hung up.

at this point i knew it was scam and so grateful and glad i was able to move my money.

This company called us when we put into a website that we were looking to move from Connecticut to New Port Richey, Florida.

They were pretty friendly but aggressive in wanting to book the move. We wanted to move as soon as possible so it seemed reasonable enough. They gave us a price which included discounts for Seniors & AAA. I said I had to book it right while he was on the phone. I spoke with my partner and we decided to move ahead. We gave him a check over the phone. Which of course I'm kicking myself for. The contract was sent over @ 4:45 pm on Sunday the 26th of April. On Monday morning @ about 8 am I called to cancel the move, which was after I put a stop payment on the check with TD Bank, that will be another complaint. On Wednesday evening we checked our bank account and found that it the bank paid the check. They said there's nothing they can do "it doesn't always work" we need to resolve it with the moving company. When I get the salesperson on the phone Thursday he says someone from customer service will call me. I wait and call again and he informs me there's nothing that can be done they cannot refund the deposit because the move was supposed to be within 5 days of the deposit.

The contact I signed says where I signed acceptance that there is a 72 hour grace period of the electronic signature for a full refund. Further investigation on page 5 of the contract, which I did not get until after I signed the agreement, "If your first available pick up date is within (5) days of electronically signing the United American Moving agreement your deposit is non-refundable.

Talking to them about this has proved to get us no where. It doesn't matter one bit to them. It's a scam to collect money from people.

My husband and I were searching online getting quotes for our upcoming move. A phone call came in from a man named Lloyd claiming he worked for United American moving company. He told my husband he saw he was looking at quotes to move across the country. Lloyd states they were a moving company that came in and packed everything, provided the truck; and had workers drive the truck to the final destination. That the whole estimated included labor, packing, truck, gas, insurance, etc. First he quoted my husband 5,900. I told my husband “no” as that was too much. We hung up. Lloyd called back and dropped the price down because they had an empty truck going the same route and they could cut us a deal. The new estimate was 3,900. We were told we had to pay a deposit of 1,500 and something odd dollars and we pay the rest at pick up. We agreed and paid the deposit. Just 48 hours after I started to really look into the company and then the horror hit me. This was not even a moving company but a broker! That was not what they said on the phone. All the reviews were horrific. People moved and over a month had gone by and they still did not receive their belongings. Nobody would answer the phone for them. They had to contact authorities and file a report. I immediately realized this was a scam and tried to call/email to cancel. I left voicemails. I sent emails. I requested a full refund of my deposit and did not wish to move forward. Only once was I able to reach a very rude Hispanic woman. There were kids screaming in the background. She told me I was “[censored] out of luck and they had my money and I cannot get my deposit back”. I threatened her that I would contact the ScamPulse.com and my military bank (which is what I used to as the source of payment). She laughed and me and told me “good luck”. I have started a claim with Navy Federal Credit Union and there are doing an investigation themselves. I am requesting this company is investigated throughly. This is a big scam. I would hate for this to happen to someone else. Especially during this pandemic. My husband and I are both out of work and the last thing we needed was to be scammed by someone during already difficult times.

After going to movers.com to find a mover, I was contacted by United American Movers out of Florida. The person I spoke with talked very fast and after going thru inventory, he gave a good price and then said that he needed an answer now, he could not wait, and that appointments would be filling up fast. He then stated he needed a deposit, which I gave. He also told me that I needed to be careful because people would call and say they were from a company and they are actually “brokers” and they would rip you off. He would be available 24/7 for us through the entire move. I did call and get through to him at one point, asked if he was in fact a broker, and very rudely he said, we all are. Then I received a call from another person to get the final inventory, the price jumped from $4600+ to almost $8000 and they again needed more of a deposit. Before the deposit went thru, I called my bank to put a stop payment on that deposit as it just didn’t feel right. They put through an electronic payment anyway after I had cancelled them, basically going through a back door to get the money. So they now have over $5000 of our money for doing absolutely NOTHING,do not use them they will keep wanting more money. Or hold your household goods until you give it to them. I will pursue this issue.
