I think I have just been scammed. I was trying to call United Healthcare. I was calling the number on the back of my medical card. I have vision problems and called the wrong number by accident. I called 877-649-5430 by mistake. The correct number 877-849-5430. I had questions. When I called they answered United Healthcare How May We Help you. We are offering a $100 gift card to all our subscribers. Walmart or Dine Out card. My choice. They were totally smooth and professional. I should have listened to the hair on the back of my neck. I was uncomfortable. There was a $4.95 charge for shipping and handling. I would also receive a health magazine package. I unfortunately gave my credit card number. I called the number she gave for questions. It was disconnected. That is when I knew it was a scam. I called United Healthcare and explained what happened. He gave me a number for Ohio Fraud line. He said no way we would do that. They also asked for the number of my United Healthcare Medicare Advantage number. I gave it out. I let United Healthcare know I gave out my number. I am usually so careful. I just had questions regarding my coverage. How did they know to set up a number with one digit off.

Voice mail instructed me to call 833 385 9445 to answer some health questions to improve UHC service. I called the number. It was an automated/robot voice asking for my name and birthdate. I ended the call so I don't know what else they were phishing for. I called UHC customer service. They confirmed that these phone numbers are not part of UHC.

Received a call from (612) 435-8148, I did not notice the number and did not answer. They left a voice mail and basically the voice mail stated "This is United Health Care calling to get information on your account so we can help you better. Please press 1 if you wish to speak to a representative concerning your account..." I called United Health Care directly and they said this is not their phone number and they did not call me. I did not call the phone number back.
