I got a call from someone who said they were with United Health Care. They wanted me to answer questions and I didn't want to do that. They said they would mail me the questions. I called United Health Care and they said they didn't mail anything out.

- Madison, CT, USA

Answered a call with the UnitedHealth Care which is my provider. Asked if I could hear the caller. Not thinking I said yes then blank on phone.

Phone # was 203 6016340. So angry because United calls this time of year to schedule home visit!!

Caller had my name snd identified herself as from United Health Care. She said she had important info about benefits I might be interested in. I agreed to listen. Next she asked for my monthly income. I asked her to send this info to me by mail. She could not. Asking more questions, I was finally able to get her to say it was a “state program” and finally she said it was Medicaid. I hung up. Gave her no info.

I usually do not answer when not sure who it is but today I answered a call thinking it was my husband almost same number as his did not have reading glasses and just woke up so I answered A man sayin he was from united health care then he said can you hear me I said yes which I never do but when you first wake up you don't think about the scams then he continued to ask me if i had health ins at that point I hung up.

Some woman called claiming to be with UHC, knew my first name, asked me if I wanted to buy health insurance for $70 a month. The number on caller ID came up J Holsinger (not UHC). I called United Health Care and asked about it, they said they never use telemarketers to sell insurance, its a scam. I called the number back and told them this, and all of a sudden they couldn't understand me and they hung up on me.

The scam itself was a robocall scam posing as my healthcare provider. It was an automated message saying that they had important healthcare information for me. I waited about a week or two before I decided to call back the number and it was a recorded message saying they were trying to get ahold of me and asking if I was the one speaking. Then they asked me to say 'yes' or 'no', in which I replied 'yes' to verify it was me. Then they asked for my birthday for 'added security'. After giving that information it started asking questions about if I had questions over pregnancy pills, health questions related to pregnancy, etc and would keep repeating itself either until a response happened or until the phone eventually hung up from inactivity. When I called back a second time, if I respond 'no' or press option '2' for no, then it asks if I want to leave a message or to verify that this is a wrong number. Or press '2' for leaving a message or press '3' for a wrong number. If I press '3' for wrong number then it removes the number from the list and asks for the codes it left on the voicemail to 'verify' the phone number. Not sure what they were up to and needed but I contacted local banks, credit agencies, and companies I bill with to alert them of the possible scam and to strike before anything worse happens.

I got a voicemail saying to call back united health Care with a 7 diget code that was provided. I've never had this insurance. I called to see what they would say. A computer was trying to get me to say yes and ran in circles.

I have received about 30 calls in the past 2 days from this company calling itself United Healthcare. The number is 478-239-0045. When you try to call it back it doesn't ring.
