I received a phone call from a "delivery service" who noted they were attempting to deliver a legal document and that I should probably call them to make sure that it was legit prior to accepting. I called the number and it was answered by an Adam Wolf, he noted he was calling from United Law Group on behalf of The Frontier Group. "Adam" stated that I had an open debt to collect from 2016, he said that the documents stated that I was being offered a settlement amount should I pay in full. When questioned about this debt that I supposedly owed, he did not give much information. He stated that it appeared to be some type of card that was opened that was never paid on. He also noted that The GE Money Group had purchased Synchrony Bank so it might be a . When I noted that all my account were in good standing- he noted that it might appear that way on my credit report, however, this was false. He also noted a social security number and asked me to verify that it was accurate. He noted that I had to pay a certain amount otherwise it would be sent to court and I would be responsible for all fee's. I asked again for documentation stating what debt was owed and he noted he did not have access to that information. He kept speaking in large terminology attempting to make me feel frightened that I would need to go to court. I did not give any other information and told him I would call back later. I then looked up websites for The Frontier Group, United Law Group, and The GE Money Group, all were noted to not be registered through BBB. I then typed up a letter stating I needed proof of debt and sent it to the emails listed for Frontier Group and United Law The gentlemen then tried contacting me a little bit later and left a voicemail stating that my time was up and that the group had decided to continue with the court proceedings.
