I was searching on Craig's List for pontoon boats. Found a 2017 Bennington for sale at $27,000, only a few thousand below market value. Initial email contact with supposed owner/seller, Roderick Cole. Referred by R. Cole to his broker, United Motors Garage, who supposedly held the boat in Toledo, Ohio, ready for sale and shipment. From that point on, only dealt with UMG agent online. None of the home office numbers in NYC could be answered by too busy staff. Reduced to online chats with a real person. Very realistic documents and online customer service with chat room person. Wire transfer occurred on 9-8-2021. Two days later notified that truck was in accident and boat was damaged. A FULL REFUND was in process. After the 5 business days, and no refund, chat room person assured me it would take place on 9-24-2021, but it id not. Now, I cannot contact anyone at UMG or Mr. Cole. Also found a similar add on Craig's List with a widow in Atlanta using a third party broker to sell her pontoon boat. Even though I may never see my money again, this appears to be an ongoing scam and others may be warned. I have digital copies of nearly all email interactions with UMG if interested.

Found a boat for sale on boat trader, contacted the buyer through the contact button. They replied with a personal email to view more info on the boat through a consignment dealer website and to initiate the buying process. The process required to send a bank wire to the company (should have known better, just got to excited) and then they would start delivery process. On the day the boat was to be delivered they notified me by email the delivery truck was involved in an accident and my purchase would be delivered the next day. The following day received another email saying the insurance company determined there was damage to the boat and they are starting the refund policy. Obviously not true
