Type of a scam Government Grant
I spoke with a guy named Thomas Beasley. He had allot of information about what to do to receive a $30,000 United Nations grant. I am currently unable to contact my sister over the phone, and when I message her on the app, I am pretty sure I am contacting the scammer who is sending messages from her account.
Last night, I spoke to the gentleman, Thomas Beasley and informed that I wanted to verify the information with my sister first. Soon after, I received a Facebook message from her stating that she was too busy to talk.
I concluded that this was a scam because if my sister has time to text/message me, she has time to make a quick phone call.
The rep was persistent and wanted the money sent today via Western Union. Rep also requested my name, address, amount of income, etc.
The rep also asked about what type of cell phone I have.
I was asked to send $750.00 via western union to :
Warren Ingram , Columbia Tennessee, 38401.
I told the rep that I could not afford to send $750. He told me that my sister had sent a portion of the funds, and I only needed $200 more dollars. Every time I tried to reply to my sister using the messenger, I would receive no response, or a message that she was too busy.
I requested a video chat , which was answered with a black screen/video image.
