We received an email (non-respond to type), stating that our recent credit card payment that was paid online via our craigs list account, was declined. It appeared to contain reprinted message from a credit card processing agent, instructing them to correct the credit card number and rerun the charge. There was a link that we were told to click on to take care of the issue. The email also stated that our paid job opening advertisement was stopped and that we would have to make another payment to repost same ad.
The link they tried to trap us with: craigslist.org.******************* ** **************
Their email to us even stated that we would already be logged into our Craigs List account, thru their email.
I immediately spammed the email, went onto Craigs List as a job seeker, found that our paid ad was still posted, without interruption, and then logged into our account and printed invoice/receipt of online payment/etc..

I received a call today from this number. They stated that they came to my home with uniformed officers and I wasn't here so they would be coming back. I asked what exactly this was this in reference and what company were they calling from because I have many family and friends in law enforcement and this is not how they conduct business. They refused to identify who they were or what company they were supposed to be representing. He then threatened me again saying he knew I was hiding someone, where I was and they would be back with officers. He called me a racist and a boot licker. I am also filing a complaint with local law enforcement

I listed a motorcycle for sale on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. The next day I received a text asking if it was still available, and asking for a vehicle history report. I agreed, then I got a text with a link to a suggested provider. I tried to open the link in Chrome, but the browser said something was suspicious about it, so I googled it and learned is was a scam.

I have received hundreds if not thousands of calls from these people. They claim there is a problem with my computer and they need to access it to fix it. Funny how they would think that since its been in the cabinet for close to a year itself and I doubt the battery is even charged. I digress. They continue to call, obviously from India and no matter how many times I advise them to cease the calls continue.

The call was a recording ordering receiving person to contact the IRS due to the person intentionally trying to defraud the government by misrepresenting their tax information. When I called the phone number back asking to be removed from the call list, the person that answered became verbally abusive and screamed lewd obscenities. I told him I was going to report him to the ScamPulse.com. He hung up.

This is a scam/fraud incident out on Craigslist. I have reported it on their site and I'm not sure if any legal repercussion can be done, however, thought it necessary to report this to the authorities. I had some items posted for sale and received a message from an interested party. The short version is that he sent me a check for more than 8 times what I was asking and stated that his assistant made a mistake and to go ahead and deposit the check and he’d let me know where to send the overpayment back to. I did not cash the check but did call the bank and the business on the check. Both confirmed it was a scam. I sent a text back to the individual telling him that I knew it was a scam. I’m not sure he got that text, however, later in the evening I told him that I deposited the check which I did not. He text’d me back and said he’d send me instructions on where to send the overpayment. He goes by the name of Jeremy Pechacek. The first number he text’d me from was 916-258-2284. Then a couple days later he said that his phone was stolen and started texting me from what he said was his work number of 216-765-9575. The area codes do not match the address on the check or the mailing address on the envelope that he mailed the check from. Area code 216 is Cleveland, Ohio area, 916 Is Sacramento, CA and the Bank and business address is in Barrington and Schaumburg, IL. We contacted the Bank and the restaurant name on the check, both acknowledged that is was a fraud and it continues to happen. They too are trying to get to the bottom of it. The restaurant name is ***, corporate office *** ** *** *** *** ** Schaumburg, IL 60173

Very friendly woman named "Emily" said hi, can you hear me. I said "uh huh." When she began her spiel that I had won something, while she was talking I said "no thanks" and hung up. After looking up # on internet, I have learned she was looking for me to say "yes." I am afraid that my response may be enough to steal. Occurred on Saturday so I will call my bank Monday to alert them. I'm not sure if I am at risk for theft.

Received a phone call this morning, just moments ago (11:30am).
I have received several similar calls over this past week, each from a different number, and before I thought about it, I simply said "yes" in an irritated tone. While I was waiting for the response I realized that I had already perhaps said too much, recalling the "Yes" being recorded and used maliciously scam I had been made aware of a few weeks back. When I twice made an attempt to redial the number it is busy.
Everyday this week I have received a similar call, each time there is a pause, and previously I had answered correctly with a hello or similar, and when the usual recorded pitch plays, asking if I'd like to 'bla bla' etc, I would say nothing or NO, or just hang up. Each of these times I immediately add the numbers to a VERY long list simply titled "Blocked Caller" on my iPhone, so I can't actually determine any of these previous calls from each other. This week every single call has been around the same time of day, but so far none have been previously tagged. This morning I was expecting a caller I knew, and so I simply said "yes" before realizing anything. Should I be calling my credit card and other accounts to place red flags, or what? Sitting and waiting for something to get stolen or worse isn't something I can just do.
