deceptive ‘liking’-video-job
After a week, I had apparently earned $500. Eager to withdraw my money, I clicked the 'Cash Out' button. A message popped up: "Deposit $100 in cryptocurrency to unlock your earnings!"
I was confused but determined. I asked my parents for help buying cryptocurrency and made the deposit. But when I tried to withdraw again, another message appeared: "Congratulations! You've reached a higher tier. Deposit $300 more to unlock premium withdrawals!"
Convinced I was close to getting my money, I made another deposit. My account now showed over $1000 in earnings. I began emailing the website daily, asking how to withdraw my money. Each time, I received replies promising bigger earnings if I continued liking videos and making deposits.
My parents noticed my increasing anxiety and investigated. They realized it was a scam, but I struggled to understand. In my mind, I had earned the money fair and square. I believed if I just explained my situation, the website owners would give me my earnings. I started sending multiple emails daily, demanding my money. I didn't realize this could alert the scammers or lead to more manipulation.
Worried, my parents sought help from a counselor experienced with young adults. Using clear, concrete examples, the counselor explained how the scam worked. They introduced the concept of " asking a tiger for its skin", helping me understand why trying to get money from scammers was both impossible and potentially dangerous.
I am very disappointed for my carelessness at the beginning!

They asked me to switch to WhatsApp to contact them.
The job is to follow the TikTok or Instagram accounts of social media influencers, subscribe to YouTube channels, keep liking videos to earn commission.
This practices is very similar as what those scammers used in Singapore reported by Singapore news (ttps://www.asiaone.com/singapore/tempted-job-offer-beware-scam-made-least-180-v...⇄ In those cases, Victims got a small commission each time after clicking, and were persuaded to complete more tasks in return for more money. They were persuaded to transfer large sums of money to bank accounts or cryptocurrency accounts provided by the scammers, with the promise of better returns. Victims would only realize that they had been scammed when their website account showed a negative account balance.)
The company gives job through Facebook, they do not use company email to contact the recruited unlike other companies in U.S.
Their contact number is using WhatsApp, the area code of the number is 785 which is in Kansas in U.S. They do not list any office with physical address in U.S.
There is no review about this company in internet. No specific, detailed and clear service is described in the website. There is no introduction to any real people in the leadership team of the company.
Their address is in a huge office building in Singapore. But unmaked.com does not give any specific floor or room number at that address.
