Type of a scam Government Agency Imposter
She is young and searched for the TSA PreCheck site via Google. The problem is these crooks have built web sites (more than one I believe) that show up in the Google rankings often higher than the official TSA results. A casual, trusting user like my daughter will casually click on these links which will take you to a site that promises to lead you through the process. It is not at all clear that they are just skimming off unassuming customers. They present the TSA form via their web site and charge a $150 processing fee. My daughter thought she was paying for recheck but NO - once her appointment was set and she went to her appointment she was charged the official and correct fee of $78. This was very confusing and we had no idea why there was two fees. I finally figured out this was a scam when I saw the $150 appear on my credit card. I follow the URL and realized it was a complete scam. I immediately called my CC company and we initiated a dispute. Later that day, seething, i called the 321 phone number for these scammers and told them I wanted a full refund for my scam. The girl was pleasant and friendly and offered my a $75 refund as a courtesy and told me I could keep the provided services. "What services?" I asked and told her no - I want a full refund. She went to speak to her supervisor and came back to tell me I would get a FULL refund, I saw the refund with a day or two and informed my CC company.
This is a complete scam and an expensive one. I am sure they make tons of money off it as many people don't question the extra charge - and those that do probably settle for the partial refund of $75. This company is a fraud and should be shut down. I will tell everybody who will listen including the BBB, Consumer Affairs, the TSA, the FBI, and any other enforcement officials being harmed by this team of crooks.
Do not settle for this - get your bank on it and also call the number I called: 321-325-8279 to demand a refund. All ended well for me but this was unnecessary agitated AND I had to cancel my credit card so these con artists did not have future access to my funds.
