The caller said he was calling about extra benefits from Medicare. He had a very thick accent, and I could hear background noise like a call center. He knew my full name, address, and birthdate, which he asked me to confirm. To prove he was from Medicare, he told me to look at my caller ID. It was the real Medicare phone number. I did not confirm anything. I asked for a number to call him back to confirm his identity and he hung up on me. I called Medicare. They did not call me.
