I was renewing my Passport. This very official site came up US Passport Assistance.

I filled out all the info including my SS# and gave my credit card and waited for their response.

Meanwhile I found the official site with government logo

Passport office requires a check they do not take visa cards!

I called Visa and they gave me a phone number to call the "merchant"--they took off the charge--but still have my info
