The scammer used a letter sent via the US Postal Service - postage was "Presorted First-Class Mail U.S. Postage PAID Claysburg, PA Permit No. 6. The notice of a supposedly delinquent SBA loan included the following text: "YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE ENCLOSED OFFICIEAL NOTICE CONCERNING POSSIBLE U.S. TREASURY COLLECTION ACTIONS FOR YOUR DELINQUENT GOVERNMENT DEBT. THE FULL PAYMENT OF YOUR DELINQUENT DEBT WILL STOP ANY ADVERSE COLLECTION ACTIONS.

Or you must immediately contact by mail or by phone the SBA OFFSET REPRESENTATIVE at the address and phone number IN THE ENCLOSED OFFICIAL NOTICE to arrange for an acceptable payment plan, which will also stop any adverse collection actions."

The mailing used something close to the official SBA logo (minus the red part of the logo) and included a pre-addressed envelope for payment to be sent to the following address: SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, P.O. Box 3918, Portland, OR 97208-3918.

Received a statement regarding an SBA Disaster Loan. I do not own my own business. Statement says, "No payment amount is currently due, however, interest is accruing on the amount you have received. You may voluntarily make a payment (s) which will reduce the amount of interest that will accrue before your payments are scheduled to begin.". Payment is to be mailed to P.O. Box 3918, Portland, OR 97208-3918. I've been getting a statement monthly.
